The Franekenstein story just pulled off a masterful twist!
This is DS storytelling at its best. A soap can either repeat things over and over to fill time or they can actually explore every possible dimension of a story. When Dark Shadows is at its best, it’s when it is doing the latter. At this phase in the Adam storyline, Adam has kidnapped Carolyn, but has no idea of his crime. He leaves to get her food and gets arrested. So, Carolyn is locked up and starving. Adam is locked up by the cops, and he can’t get her the food. In the center is Robert Rodan‘s brilliant pantomime performance conveying a creature who is pre-irony, making the story all the more heartbreaking.
