I was there, and anything was possible. I’d planned on killing him, you know. The entire Devlin empire build up just to crash down on Roger Collins’ skull. It would have been worth it. But as much as I hate him, I liked my ability to choose, more. I can choose to have him as a friend again. I can choose to punish him, slowly.
Choice is something that eluded me even more than justice. I won’t be denied it. To do what? Be the man they thought I was? Rot in jail on Murder One, and not manslaughter. No.
