A lifetime diagnosis of ADHD is associated with a wide range of life impairments, which makes a comprehensive and accurate diagnostic assessment essential in order to obtain appropriate treatment. Moreover, while there are effective medical and psychosocial treatments for ADHD, it is important to be able to track treatment response in order to evaluate whether adjustments in specific interventions are needed or referrals for adjunctive treatments and supports are indicated to facilitate optimal therapeutic outcomes. The goal of this article is to provide a clinically useful review of the various measures that practicing clinicians can use to aid in the diagnostic assessment and monitoring of psychosocial and medical treatment of ADHD in adult patients. Although it was originally thought that the symptoms of ADHD would inexorably remit by late adolescence or young adulthood, various longitudinal studies have indicated that symptoms persist for a majority of individuals in either full syndromatic form or clinically significant residual form. Cross-sectional studies of adults seeking assessment for ADHD have been conducted in order to identify the unique presentations of this clinical group first identified in adulthood.

From a physiological standpoint, it makes sense that regular Kegels would help the average woman to improve her sexual response by improving blood flow and becoming more in tune with her body. In terms of actual research on the subject, though, there are surprisingly few articles on Kegels and general sexual health in women. There is also good deal of data showing that pelvic PT is very helpful for women who experience painful intercourse. If after a few weeks of Kegeling you are not seeing results, talk to your provider about other possible causes of pelvic floor dysfunction or ask for a referral to a pelvic physical therapist.
